Network Engineer (L3, Fiber)

About the role

FaultLine is hiring a Network Engineer (L3, Fiber) on our Engineering team. You will work with experienced operators on systems that real customers depend on every day.

What you will do

  • Design, build, and operate production network services and the tools around them.
  • Participate in architecture reviews and on-call rotations.
  • Write and own runbooks for the systems you ship.
  • Mentor more junior engineers; raise the floor.
  • Collaborate with NOC, support, and product on incident response and root-cause analysis.

What we are looking for

  • 5+ years building production network or distributed systems.
  • Strong fundamentals: TCP/IP, BGP, routing, queuing, observability.
  • Solid programming skills in at least one of: Go, Python, Rust.
  • Track record of operating systems you built.
  • Clear written communication.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with the Southwest market.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
  • Prior ISP, telco, or hyperscaler experience.
  • Open source contributions in adjacent areas.
